Telemark Ski Film Going On Tour

Jeffersonville, VT – Telemark Skier Magazine has announced their newest film from Editor and freeheel guru Josh Madsen. “The Freeheel Life 2: Hippies, Punx and & Misfits” will embark on a 50-date nationwide tour slated to hit ski towns, universities and metropolitan areas this fall and early winter.n”The Freeheel Life 2″ explores the full timeline of telemark skiing history, from its roots in Norway and subsequent reemergence in the United States in 1970s to its modern manifestations. The film features appearances from legendary veterans Tom Carter and Doug Robinson, in addition to a number of forward thinking freeheelers including Candy Froerer, Weston Deutschlander and Ty Dayberry.

Shot on location in Norway, Utah, Alaska and California, “Hippies, Punx and Misfits” takes a broader approach to the telemarking experience than its predecessor, “The Freeheel Life.”

“It has a more deeply layered story line, possesses more documentary elements, and follows a more unified theme,” says Madsen.

Naturally, viewers can also expect plenty of Telemark action. In scenes both on and off-piste, the film showcases the sport’s most progressive moves and boldest descents. Says Madsen, “The powder is deep, the lines are breathtaking, and it’s all mixed with an inspiring soundtrack from Salt Lake City musicians.”

A key figure in the freeheel scene for over nine years, Madsen is no stranger to big air. As a top-tier athlete he appeared in Warren Miller’s “Higher Ground,” in addition to several of his own releases through his former company, Lipstick Films.

This is the second year that Telemark Skier Magazine has sponsored Josh’s nationwide film tour, which kicks off tomorrow evening at the American Mountaineering Center in Golden, Colo. More information on tour dates or DVD purchases may be found at www.telemarkskier.com.
