Ski Associations Collaborate to Enhance Eastern Conferences

Lakewood, CO – The National Ski Areas Association (NSAA), Ski Maine Association, and the Ski Areas of New York (SANY) have announced a collaborative effort to further refine and enhance the groups’ annual eastern regional conferences for 2011.nIn September, the ski industry’s regional conferences and the NSAA Fall Education Seminars wrapped up this year’s tour through the Northeastern United States – including stops at Sunday River, Maine, and Bolton Landing, N.Y. – with more than 400 ski area attendees participating and more than 60 supplier companies displaying their wares and services at each venue. Following these events, a post-conference meeting among the association representatives took place to review comments and suggestions on ways to improve the 2011 schedule and format. As a result, the schedule has been modified to create a more efficient travel itinerary for both show exhibitors and ski area attendees.

The coming year marks the 20th anniversary of the New England Winter Sports Summit (NWSS). To be held Sept. 14-16, 2011, NWSS will feature an expanded seminar schedule and cohesive tradeshow floor plan in the Grand Ball Room at Maine’s Sunday River ski area. Meanwhile the SANY/PSAA EXPO, scheduled for Sept. 19–21, will celebrate its 30th anniversary in the brand new Lake Placid Conference Center, a state-of-the-art facility scheduled to open next spring. In addition, NSAA will continue its Fall Education Seminars (FES) at both events with expanded educational content for ski area employees.
