Vail, CO – Lift tickets at some ski resorts have flirted with the $100 mark in recent years, seen by some industry observers as a significant price barrier. But lift prices at several Colorado resorts will exceed the $100 mark for the first time this holiday season, some by a wide margin.nThe websites for Vail Mountain and Beaver Creek, both owned by Vail Resorts, indicate that the two ski areas will charge $108 for a walk-up window rate during the busy Christmas week, from Dec. 26-31. The two are also charging $102 now through Dec. 25, and again Jan. 1-14.

Breckenridge, also owned by Vail Resorts, will charge $104 during the peak holidays, while the company’s Keystone Resort will seek $99 from walk-up window buyers during the same period. Holiday skiers can keep their daily rate below $100 per day at all four Vail Resorts mountains in Colorado by purchasing lift tickets online at least seven days in advance.

Elsewhere in Colorado, Aspen Skiing Company is currently charging $99, its peak window price this season at its four resorts: Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk and Snowmass. They, too, are offering discounts for advance online purchase.
