Tannersville, PA – Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark will open at Pennsylvania’s Camelback Mountain Ski Area for the 2011 summer season on Saturday, marking the 14th year of operation for the largest water park in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.  All of the action begins at 11am when the gates open.

Memorial Day Weekend has always been a main event at Camelbeach since its inception, but in keeping with the holiday it’s an opportunity to pay tribute to the military. The park is offering free, preferred parking for all veterans on Saturday as a special thank you for their dedication and commitment. A valid military ID will need to be shown.

As part of the tribute, all operations will be suspended in the park at noon for posting of colors by the Tobyhanna Army Depot Color Guard and the playing of The Star Spangled Banner, followed by a 45-second moment of silence and taps played by a local Eagle Scout.

“Opening day at the Camelbeach is always filled with great anticipation and excitement,” said Charles Blier, General Manager/Executive Vice President at Camelback Mountain Resort. “The military is a committed group of men and women and it is our honor to do something special in the park that day.”

Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark will be open from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm on May 28, 29 and  30, June 4, 5, 11, and 12. Friday, June 17 marks the beginning of the Waterpark’s daily operations. The daily operating season continues through Monday, September 5.

Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark is working on a $3 million expansion this summer with two new mega thrill slides that are scheduled to open for the July 4th weekend. There are 35 slides and attractions.
