Arizona House of Representatives Honors Snowbowl’s 75th Anniversary

Flagstaff, AZ – Calling Arizona Snowbowl in Flagstaff a “premiere, year-round family destination for all ages and an important economic driver for the region,” Arizona State Representative for District 6, Bob Thorpe, presented a proclamation to the 101st Arizona House of Representatives, formally recognizing the 75th anniversary of the ski resort.

“Located at 11,500 feet in elevation, nestled in the beautiful Coconino National Forest, Snowbowl is a cherished Arizona destination for all those wishing to escape the hustle and bustle of the big city, where vacationers recreate in crystal clear air under Northern Arizona’s vast blue skies,” said Rep. Thorpe. “Additionally, the tourism and jobs generated by Snowbowl has a huge, positive economic impact for Flagstaff, Coconino County and for the State of Arizona.”

The proclamation was presented on Feb. 28 before Arizona State Legislature. It states, “these Peaks are valued and enjoyed by the people and communities surrounding them” and “Arizona Snowbowl is a physical embodiment of American tradition and dedication to habitat preservation. The foundation for responsible habitat protection originates from concerned citizens, whose spirit and reverence has contributed to the greatness of Arizona Snowbowl; and this success also results from collaboration between public and private enterprise.”
