Lisa Densmore Ballard to Teach Women’s Ski Event at Sun Valley

Sun Valley, ID – The Your Turn Women’s Ski Event will be happening on Jan. 21 on Bald Mountain at Idaho’s Sun Valley Resort. The event is organized and led by former U.S. Ski Team member, Lisa Densmore Ballard, who will be joined by Sun Valley’s top female instructors to teach women who wish to improve their skills in an inviting and social atmosphere.

“We are looking forward to the Your Turn Women’s Ski Event. It will offer an excellent opportunity for women to improve their technique and to meet other women who have a passion for skiing,” stated Martina Vala, Snowsports Supervisor at Sun Valley Resort.

The event will run from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and includes breakfast, lunch, ski demos, presentation on trends on women’s gear, full day of instruction, video analysis and an après ski party with door prizes from event sponsors including Elan, Leki, Skea, Transpack and Bollé.

Another ski program being offered at Sun Valley this year is the SunDivas, a women’s-only development clinic. The second four-week session will begin on Sunday, Feb. 21, and will meet weekly for a 2.5-hour group lesson with Sun Valley’s best female ski instructors. The program focuses on terrain selection and technique improvement in a social and inviting atmosphere.

The Women’s Only Weekend (WOW), slated for Feb. 5-7, is designed specifically for women, emphasizing camaraderie, skills improvement and technique in an environment that maximizes learning in a small group setting. The three-day clinic will happen from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day and is taught by Sun Valley’s female ski instructors. Après ski events and video analysis are included.
