New One-Day Helicopter Ski Touring from Kimberley

Kimberley (BC), Canada – Kimberley Alpine Resort and Boulder Hut Adventures have launched helicopter-assisted ski touring from Kimberley. It’s a professionally guided, one-day helicopter-assisted backcountry touring adventure in the backcountry of the Purcell Mountains.

Start your day with a helicopter pick-up at Kimberley Alpine Resort. You and your guided group will be dropped off at a ridge top for your first run. From there, professionally guided ski touring enables you to explore the amazing Purcells under your own power.

The 15,000-acre Boulder Hut skiing tenure offers challenging terrain for every skier. They ski at altitudes from 1,500-2,800 meters (5,000-9,200 feet) for reliable snow. Chutes, high alpine bowls, glades and treed powder skiing are all available.

The day includes a safety briefing, helicopter transport, lunch and professional guiding service at a cost of C$699 plus GST. An additional heli-drop run is a C$95 option at the end of the day with a return to the comfort and amenities of Kimberley Alpine Resort.

Guests should bring their alpine touring, telemark or splitboard gear with climbing skins. A shovel, probe and transceiver are also needed, although Boulder Hut Adventures has limited rentals of these available. A day pack, water bottle and extra warm clothing are recommended. Lunch and snacks are provided.
