Georgetown, CO - Consistently cold temperatures across the Continental Divide have made for ideal snowmaking conditions at Loveland, enabling the Colorado ski and snowboard resort to open Chair 6 for the season tomorrow.

Loveland Ski Area opened their terrain park, Love Park, this Friday. Love Park, located on Tempest, is currently home to six terrain park features and more features will be added when snowmaking is completed.

"Our snowmaking system has been running great and we have been able to make snow around the clock for the past week or so," said Eric Johnstone, Snowmaking and Trail Maintenance Manager. "We have laid down a deep base of manmade snow on Roulette and it's ready for skiers and riders."

With the addition of Roulette, Loveland Ski Area will be operating two lifts, serving five trails and 99 acres of terrain. Last season Chair 6 opened on October 31.

A winter storm is moving in and some reports are calling for more than a foot to fall at Loveland by the end of the day on Wednesday. There forecast calls for snow to continue off and on through the weekend.

"We are a few days ahead of where we were last year and with new snow moving in, we are excited about the possibility of opening more terrain later in the week," said Rob Goodell, Director of Business Operations.

Loveland is still making snow on additional terrain served by Chair 1 in addition to terrain at Loveland Valley for race training. The U.S. Ski Team is scheduled to train at Loveland Valley on Nov. 7. Loveland's snowmaking crew will also move equipment to start working on Chair 2 tomorrow.

Loveland Valley, home to the beginner terrain off Chair 7 and Loveland's Ski & Ride School, is scheduled to open to the public on Friday, Nov. 20.
