During the three-day camp, beginning skiers will learn how to stop, turn and control their speed. Intermediate skiers will sharpen their skiing skills and gain confidence on the blue slopes. Alta's marked runs are 25 percent beginner and 40 percent intermediate. Despite its location in the heart of the Wasatch Mountains, Alta's only 30 miles from Salt Lake International Airport, a hub for Delta Airlines, making it easy to get to from nearly any major city.
After skiing, the group builds camaraderie with gatherings in the Sitzmark, Alta Lodge’s historic ski bar, and dinners and breakfasts in the Alta Lodge restaurant. Participants will also have time to relax and recharge with a massage, sauna, hot pool or afternoon tea.
For women ages 18 and older, the camp includes four nights lodging, breakfast and dinner daily, three full days of ski instruction, three days of skiing at Alta and three days of ski equipment rental. The camp cost is $1,349 per person for beginning skiers and $1,457 per person for intermediate skiers, standard room, double occupancy. Tax and service charge are included, and other room options are also available.
The Women’s Ski Camp for Beginning and Intermediate Skiers builds on the success of the popular Alta Lodge Women’s Ski Camp for Intermediate and Advanced skiers, now in its fourth year, scheduled this year for Jan. 21-25, 2010.
