The game, released on Tuesday this week, gives players the chance to ride at the elite level of professional athletes. Players have physical control over their riders through the analog sticks, allowing them to focus on more on finesse and style rather than the memorization of button combinations. Like professional riders, players snowboard to win challenges and competitive events and to gain clothing and gear sponsorships.
Official U.S. Snowboarding and Grand Prix marks decorate the Big Air and Grind Fest competitions on two of Stoked: Big Air Edition’s in-game mountains as well as the game’s individual race courses. In turn, Destineer’s Stoked: Big Air Edition will be highlighted during the U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix and the World Cup competition weekends in a fan program as athletes simultaneously compete to qualify for their country in The Olympic Winter Games. Stoked: Big Air Edition will also be featured within official broadcasts on NBC television.
"Stoked: Big Air Edition is a great game to partner with U.S. Snowboarding. Destineer has created an authentic way to bring the mountain to the homes of people who can't make it up on the hill and let them engage in what U.S. Snowboarding athletes do on a daily basis," Vice President, Sales and Marketing Ted Morris said. "U.S. Snowboarding has four incredible events this winter, all leading to Vancouver, and Destineer will be there every step of the way."
Destineer will also be styling the youth crowd with their participation in the Xbox 360 Junior Jam being held at the Copper Mountain and Park City Grand Prix weekends, held Dec. 13 and Jan. 24, respectively.
"Having US Snowboarding as a partner within the game is really exciting. With this dynamic relationship, Stoked will see some terrific exposure during this championship season," Destineer Director of Creative Marketing Ced Funches said.
The Xbox 360 Junior Jam will be a rail jam format competition highlighting up and coming riders 8-12 years of age. The winners will receive Stoked Big Air Edition games and Xbox 360 consoles.
Destineer and Xbox 360 will be supplying games and consoles for the U.S. Snowboarding House in Vancouver for a welcome distraction during the high-pressure days of the Olympics.
