Marysville, MT - This week's snowstorm that left up to five feet of snow on parts of Montana has prompted only one of the state's ski resorts to reopen for May skiing and snowboarding this weekend for the first time ever.

Although it closed for the season at the end of the day on April 19, Great Divide ski area in Marysville will reopen its Belmont Chair this Saturday and Sunday, May 2-3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Lift tickets will be available for $19 for the day, or "a buck a run" right at the lift.

Owner Kevin Taylor explains that because he's already started summer maintenance on the snowcats, none of the runs will be groomed...which should make the local powder hounds happy.

Once the legs turn to Jell-O, guests will find beer and burgers on the BBQ at the base lodge.
