Granby, CO - Granby Ranch will host the USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Championships July 16-19 on the trail system at SolVista Basin ski resort, part of Granby Ranch's 5,000-acre ski and golf community. This will be the first time the national championships will be held in Colorado.

The USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Championships will see thousands of professional and amateur racers compete in cross country, downhill, single speed, super downhill, mountain cross and short track races. The weekend-long national event will determine the United States National Mountain Bike Champions in amateur and pro divisions.

“We chose Granby Ranch for the National Championships because the terrain matches the difficulty of the world circuit,” said Kelli Lusk, USA Cycling mountain biking events and program director. “The trail system and base area are perfect for hosting a variety of events and accommodating both the pros and amateurs.”

Recreational mountain bikers are among the adventurers who flock to SolVista during the warmer months. This summer, those cycling enthusiasts will enjoy seeing some of the world’s premier riders navigate through SolVista Bike Park’s new trails, jumps, and terrain features for the competition. Transforming the alpine skiing at SolVista Basin into a mountain bike mecca, the Granby Ranch Mountain Bike Park features ten trails: three black, four blue and three green, along with a pump track.

“We’ve been working on the mountain bike trail system for three years,” said Charlie Mayfield, vice president of operations and marketing for Granby Ranch. “The terrain of the mountain and our lift system make for a great variety of biking. We have rough and rugged trails for those who really want a challenge. We have more gentle trails for families and bikers who want something more mellow. And we have the pump track for riders of all abilities to hone their skills.”
