Golden (BC), Canada - Great Canadian Heli-Skiing has created two new types of packages this winter that combine resort skiing at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort with heli-skiing at Great Canadian Heli-Skiing and snowcat skiing at Chatter Creek, all in the powder-choked Selkirk and Purcell Mountain ranges of interior British Columbia.

Chatter Creek and Great Canadian Heli-Skiing’s proximity to Kicking Horse Mountain Resort and the town of Golden made the connection a logical choice. Skiers and snowboarders can choose between a week long tour combining Kicking Horse Mountain Resort with heli-skiing or, for the ultimate powder package, a nine or more-day tour including resort skiing at Kicking Horse, three days of catskiing and three days of heli-skiing in mountain ranges along the Canadian Rockies.

“We have noticed in recent years that shorter duration heli-skiing trips were becoming more popular and that many people were adding on a couple of days of resort skiing to their holidays," explains Greg Porter, owner of Great Canadian Heli-Skiing, "so the team at Great Canadian Heli-Skiing thought it would be a good idea to offer one-stop shopping where our guests only have to call one number to book their whole trip including heli-skiing, resort lift tickets, transfers, and resort accommodation. The only thing that we don’t do is book airline tickets!”

The "Horses & Helis" packages week-long Kicking Horse/heli-skiing packages are based on double occupancy and include all return ground transfers, lift tickets, accommodation, meals (for the heli-skiing portion), unlimited vertical with no extra charges, rental skis/board (for the heliskiing portion) and all taxes. Heli-skiing is run in groups of four. The tour runs Saturday to Saturday and guests can choose between two days of resort skiing and four days of heli-skiing, or three and three, or four days of resort skiing and two days of heli-skiing. Prices start at CAN $4,820 per person for the two-day heli/four-day lift-served trip during the shoulder seasons.

The “Golden Powder Dreams” package mixes it up between lift-served, helicopter and snowcat skiing with Chatter Creek. This tour is based on nine days or more of skiing, with three days at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, three days skiing from a 12-guest snowcat at Chatter Creek and three days of heli-skiing at Great Canadian. This tour is a self-drive trip that includes lift tickets, accommodation, meals (for the catskiing and heliskiing portions), unlimited vertical at Great Canadian, rental skis/board (for the catskiing and heliskiing portion), heli transfer to Chatter Creek from the Donald heli-plex and all taxes. Prices start at CAN $7,880 per person for low-season rates.
