Calgary, Canada - In partnership with Alberta Snowboarding and WinSport Canada, Canada~Snowboard is launching a recycling program at Canada Olympic Park (COP) which will allow youth in Calgary to receive second-hand snowboard equipment to shred the slopes.

The program is a community outreach program by Canada~Snowboard with the goal of sustainability in the sport and for the environment.

At today's FIS Snowboard World Cup at COP, a collection bin will be set up to collect used snowboard equipment (boards, bindings, clothing and accessories). The bin will be located beside the stage at the event. Everyone is invited to donate their equipment to provide snowboard opportunities to young riders in Calgary.

In cooperation with WinSport Canada, Canada~Snowboard will collect all received items, tune and clean, and will redistribute to KidSport. KidSport is a community-based sports funding program that provides grants for financially disadvantaged children ages six to 18 to participate in amateur sport and learn valuable life lessons and skills.

After the Olympic Games, youth from KidsSport will be invited to COP free of charge to receive a lesson from Canadian Snowboard Team members and certified COP instructors.
