Whistler (BC), Canada - Matchstick Productions' (MSP) new ski film release, CLAIM, The Greatest Ski Movie... EVER! debuts on September 14th in Whistler at the Telus Centre. This premiere marks MSPs twentieth ski film release and fourth world premiere hosted by Whistler/Blackcomb.
Toronto, Canada - Snow bunnies, backcountry boarders, extreme skiers and novices alike are ready to be propelled to new heights at the Toronto Ski, Snowboard & Travel Show, scheduled for October 16-19, 2008 at the Better Living Centre, Exhibition Place in Toronto.
Villa La Angostura, Argentina - Star Resorts Development, Inc., headquartered in Miami, holds a 25 percent ownership interest in the high-end Cerro Bayo boutique ski resort development located just outside Villa La Angostura in Patagonia, Argentina. As a major shareholder, Star Resorts is positioned to benefit from the development's net profit of over $100 million projected in 2007 by Fiducia Capital Group.

Yarmouth, ME - GPS and mapmaker DeLorme has announced a fall 2008 release date for its next generation handheld GPS, the Earthmate PN-40. Parramatta (NSW), Australia - Police have identified three men killed in separate skiing incidents in the NSW Snowy Mountains over the weekend.
Glenorchy, New Zealand - An Alpine Heli Ski Ltd. client became trapped under two meters of snow after an avalanche occurred in the South Richardson Mountains near Glenorchy, 50km northwest of Queenstown, the company has confirmed.
Aspen, CO - Wintersköl, a spirited tribute to Aspen's winter playground, will celebrates another ski and snowboard season January 8-11, 2009. For 58 years, Aspen locals and visitors have toasted winter with four days of family-friendly alpine festivities.
London, UK - This season the Ski Club of Great Britain's adventure skiing specialists Ski Freshtracks adds a ski tour in the High Atlas mountain range of Morocco to their program.
Beijing, China - Olympic gold medalist and World Cup ski racer Julia Mancuso (Olympic Valley, CA) and silver medalist, snowboarder Gretchen Bleiler (Aspen, CO) might not be competing in the 2008 Olympic Summer Games in Beijing, but they're in the midst of the action all the same, reporting from China for NBC and Yahoo! Sports.
Queenstown, New Zealand - The 2008 Volkswagen National Ski Championships at New Zealand's Coronet Peak ski area will feature the event's first-ever night slalom under lights, and the three day event scheduled for August 28-31 will provide a blueprint for the FIS skiing events at next year’s inaugural Winter Games New Zealand, planned for the region.
