Not sure how or even if many on here even follow road bike racing, but the US Pro Challenge (aka the Tour of Colorado) just ran from Durango all the way to Denver during last week. I unfortunately had other plans for Saturday which held a stage that ran up and around a lot of the local big foothills climbs and ended on top of Flagstaff Mtn where family friend Timmy Duggan (current US National Pro Champion and Olympic athelete for 2012) couldn't quite pull off the win, finishing 5th on the day. Timmy actually started off bike racing as summer cross training for ski racing he was doing with Eldora Mtn Ski Club.
Anyway, I was able to attend the final stage ITT in Denver on Sunday where Levi Leipheimer lost enough time to drop from 1st to 3rd for the week long GC, while Christian Vande Velde blistered a fast time trial moving up to the final overall winner. Winner of the stage was 'mini-Phinny' (Taylor Phinny) by 10 seconds. Here are some of the 'best-of' pics I was able to take:
