Regular readers of our Ski News section may have read about the neighborhood furor surrounding a freestyle summer ski comp scheduled for San Francisco's Fillmore Street. You've got to love this quote in today's SF Chronicle from Cecilie Klaumann, secretary of the Norwegian Consulate in San Francisco:

And as long as we're on the subject of weird news items, although this next one is unrelated to skiing, there was a shooting this week in a local motel here in SLC of a Native American woman who was 7 months pregnant. Police speculate that it was a drug deal gone bad, and managed to deliver the baby by emergency c-section even though the woman died from the gunshot wound to her head. Her name?
