Good Winter Camp Spots?

If you know a good winter camping spot for ski/board trips post it here!


My favorite for riding telluride is a small national forest campground just north of telluride. I had to look up the name, Illium, cause its been awhile since I've been there. It's a small site right next to a creek so you have a water supply, even in winter. Not sure if it's officially open during winter, but I've never been bothered camping there in winter. The road is also well maintained because there are a few houses up in the valley. Anyway heres the map so you can find it on your own. Cheers!

Funny -- while you were starting this topic, I saw your request about winter camping around the SLC, UT resorts and answered by starting a new topic here. Given the specific location covered by that topic, I'm inclined to leave the topics separate and merely reference that topic here.
