A TV camera drone crashed during a World Cup men's slalom race in Italy:

And not a small cheapie drone either. That looks like a ~3-5K drone - without camera. Usually dual operators on those as well. One for the drone, a second operator for just the camera.

Supposed flight rules were to be Minimum 15 meters behind racers AND flying only at the very edge of the race arena (basically along the far fence line; not down the middle of the race hill). Someone screwed up big time and is probably looking for a new job this morning.

Or even more. This pro model has a payload capacity of 15 lbs, suitable for a broadcast camera or Epic Red 1. http://freeflysystems.com/alta It costs around $11K. A broadcast quality pro cam is easily $10K - $20K. The Epic I mentioned starts at $58K without lens.
