Well, for a start, Ruby Mountains Heli was the first operator in the US,started by former Snowbird patroller Joe Royer in the 70s.

Actually, Ruby Mt. Heliski wasn' t the first. Sun Valley Heliski claims to be first. But, there is a lot more to the story. Binx started his operation in Alaska in the 50's.

You should read my essay, "The Beginings," on the website, there are a lot of surprises in it. Did you know the first heliskiing was in 1948?
