Places in Northeast to "earn some turns"

I am new to this posting. Tryng to find out a few things - where are there places to head out and do skinning and downhill. Live in Boston and looking for places in VT and NH. Any suggestions?

Also - are there groups of folks out there who get together periodically to tackle a hill here in the northeast.

Another source I enjoy is DeLorme's 3-D topographic software, which displays the pitch of the terrain throughout NewEngland and their Atlas/Gazateers, which display the access...
