While the last thing I need is another expensive hobby, a guy I know that runs a shop in durango has gotten really into kite boarding and was peaking my interest. The nice thing is that you can get kites that work for both winter snowboarding and summer wakeboarding. Anyone ever done it?

If anyone is interested they are starting a school that will run jan and feb next season at vallecito lake just outside durango. Contact inferno board shop in durango for more details.

having a house on Cape Cod I am a big time windsurfer. The idea of ditching all that equipment sounded so good. So I did some research on Kiteboarding.. 1st problem the learning curve. This is no 2 lesson sport. It can take many months of near drowning just to get to the beginer level.
2nd problem , it is dangerous as all heck. lots of ankle injuries and cuts from the thin kitelines.
I'm just sticking to windsurfing for now
