How many pair of skis/boards do you have in your basement?

Basement, garage, at your parents or at your girlfriends?

I'm talking actual skis to old skis gathering dust somewhere (also applies to boards).

You can also count the ones you might have used to build a fence or chairs.

Do you have any other ski related stuff? Boots, clothes, googles, t-bars, trail signs, lift chairs?

I have quite a few pairs that need to get dragged to the dumpster.

His:
2 pairs of X-Scream Series
1 pair of X-Mountains
1 pair of SuperMountains
1 pair of Atomic GS boards
3 pairs of Xtra Hots
2 pairs of Volkl CMH powder boards
Total 10

Hers
1 pair of Rossi something-or-other
1 pair of Atomics
1 pair of Salomon Crossmax 8L
2 pairs of Salomon Hots
1 pair of Volkl CMH powder boards
Total 6

I voted "2-3" but that was before I actually read the first posting. Counting backwards (including boards made into sleds, "loaned out," etc.) I could probably have listed around a dozen. I really tend to keep my skis for quite a long time. Lack of time in the past meant I really did not "wear them out" before I wanted something more updated. Since I am now retired, I now hope to actually need replacements due to excessive use!

i have three pairs in active use with a back up pair waiting to be drilled (skis are like a pair of good sneakers, you gotta get two pair before they change the model when you find something you like!). i also have a pair of skis that has one ski with a seperated top sheet, but the other ski of that pair is a back up if something happens to the replacements. then i have a pair out of commission and not something that any one would buy now at 193cm's and i have two old pairs sitting in the attic of my parents house. so all told, i currently own eight skis total, three pairs are active and a total of 4.5 could potentially see active duty.

You could make a fence or offer them to a ski museum?

I was only going to count mine, by my wife and kids have a few pairs. Her is an inventory of my basement and my mother's in Montreal.

Me:
Rossignol B1
Atomic SL11
Atomic BetaRace 10:22
Fels
Rossignol 7S
Rossignol 7G
Rossignol 7S
Rossignol 4S
Fisher RC4 Super Comp
Fisher Racing Cut Comp
Total: 10

Wife:
Atomic BetaCarv 9:20
Rossignol 7XK (or whatever)
Total:2

Kids:
I believe I have 2-3 pairs of short ski (aka 105cm and under).

Other equipments?

I have at least 4 pairs of boots + my wife 2. Kids: 5? Ski Jackets Poles and part of poles, goggles, ski pants and jackets (6 or 7 for me alone). Etc...

Functional for me:
1999 Volant Power Ti (everyday ski)
1996 Volant Chubb (powder ski)
1986 Rossi 3G (local/late season occasional use)
1987 Rossi 3G (if I'm sure I need a rock ski)
Not functional: 1982 Rossi SM
I also have Andrew's current new Rossi B1's and his prior 2000 Salomon X-Free's which are now too small.
At UCSD Adam has:
1997 K2 Four (packed snow, GS race)
2004 Dynastar 8800 (powder/soft snow/big mountain)
2001 Salomon 1080 (park, doesn't use very much)
A slalom race ski he got used and which I don't know the details.
My old 1995 Rossi 7XK

Well here are my boards:

05-06 Burton Baron ES ( all around goodness)
03-04 Burton Fish ( For powder days, best board ever)
02-03 Nirto Shadow ( Rock Board)

Atomic ATC3 (201)
Rossignol Bandit X (173)

I think I've used the Atomic's once since I got the Bandit three years ago.
It's kind of hard to convince myself that going back to 201's with no sidecut is worth it...

I have the following skis:

Downhill:
03 Salomon Pocket Rockets 185 - soft, powder-loving, quick-turning ski (my favorite)
00 Atomic 10EX 191 - stiff, fat, crudbuster
02 Volkl P40 Motion 181 - short-carving ski (ex-demo)

Telemark:
04 Atomic TM:EX 184 - stiff, fat tele ski

Me:
Dynastar Inbigs
Salomon Pocket Rockets
K2 MIni-enimies
Line 1260's

Dad:
Rossi XX's
Salomon Xtra Hots

Mom:
Volkl 4 stars

So 7, but after tomorrow's ski swap there will only be 3.

Recycling skis...

Example of a ski fence found in Jackson, Wyoming. :p

Yeah, I undercounted too. Lastyear we skied on all but the ancient boards listed:

His:
190 Volkl CMH Heliboards
190 K2 Big Kahuna (Volkl built)
188 Volkl G31
188 Volkl G31 (rock skis)
184 Dynastar 8000
193 Fischer GS Race boards
210 Fischer RS Supers (Kept to remind me how long my boards used to be. Perhaps these should be used to start a fence.)
Ancient cross country boards

Hers:
160 Dyanastar IM70
Volkl Snow Rangers
Volkl Explosives
150 Atomic Fat Boys
Ancient cross country boards

Cheers,
Jeff
