Western U.S. vs. Eastern U.S. Skiing vs. Europe Skiing

Why the Bay Area Ski Show is poor:

1. Charges $15 plus parking

For $20, you get...
2. Not even all the Lake Tahoe areas to show up -- like Squaw Valley or Sugar Bowl.
3. Mammoth Mt. blows it off - and it's only 5-6 hrs away.
4. Almost every other West Coast resort blows it off.
5. ANY MOUNTAIN boxes up all the gear the currently is on sale in their stores and brings it to the show. Nothing Special.
6. Coupons that are available on the web. Like Snowbomb.com.

At this show, you at least have the chance for human carnage.

That alone is worth an admission fee.
Although it was more fun when they took over a street in SF.

Icer Air at Pac Bell Park did have typical resort and product exhibitors booths in the outfield concourse. Report & pics here http://www.firsttracksonline.com/boards ... php?t=2365 .

There was also some discussion of Bay Area vs. SoCal ski shows. SoCal's has been quite consistent in terms of resort representation over the 30 years I've been going. Nearly every major U.S. Rockies resort is represented, plus quite a few from Canada. A few Euro resorts have been there in the past, but not recently. Same with Portillo and New Zealand.
