anyone have any first hand knowledge of the current conditions up there? im gonna be heading up from southern nh tomorrow morning early (leaving at 5am). from what i hear they got 10" yesterday (wendsday) and are suppose to get another 5-10" today according to there website... sometimes they can be aliitle on the high side with there expectations. also im wondering how this new snow is gonna lay over the icy base that is from the rain everyone got earlier this week?

also i will be in the woods all day so hopefully the icy base combined with the winds of jay will put all that pow into the woods

From what I saw from the FIS guys, Stowe looked real good yesterday.

Although I'm 200 miles away, but skiing was real good last night. Surprisingly good.

The winds were CRANKING in Montreal today, and the snow squalls were crazy but really only about 5cm of snow fell.

Hopefully they can run the Tram because winds are supposed to remain high tomorrow

drove 3 1/2 hours up to jay to find all upper mountain lifts closed due to high winds. that sucked.

we decided to hike the"dip" and the snow was good.

jays back country snow is as follows. 12" of powder from late this week over a 2" hard crust with 12-18" heavier base under that. the pow on top is very light and sometimes you can find the crust if ur doing hard turns. but all in all very good. if they get another 6-8" it will be epic conditions....

was the bonadventure quad running? if it's the highest lift running, a very short hike gets you to beaver pond glades... often the jackpot after snow and high winds

nope. it was shut down too. that was our plan if it opened (which they were sayn they were going to but by noon it still wasnt running so we took off)

we headed to Burlington for pizza and a tour of the magic hat brewery so all was not lost!
