Out in the Western Laurentians after the Storm 28/12

The big storm was on Thursday. Environment Canada recorded 45 cm of snow in Montreal . The largest single day snowstorm ever recorded at the airport . We headed out on Friday to the Western Laurentians where about half the Montreal snow total fell . Which is ok as the base was already 3 feet deep so all the usual haunts would be skiable . Since the snow fell on Thursday during the day was concerned that it would get tracked out . Nothing to worry about as side country in fine form . Headed out beyond the pale to find boot deep dry snow on top of a good base . Returned home past MSS Where from a distance the hill looked like a ant hill swarming with black dots ( skiers ) . Had to smile as we were 40 minutes to the north west skiing in solitude .

Found two runs of deep powder at Edelweiss on that bluebird day, however it was a mistake. Patrol removed a sign to open Zoomer, but forgot to add one for the trails on the West. A sign was placed after lunch - another sign this isn't VT (see my TR). I'll try to write a multiday Holiday TR at one point - wife and daughter skied today, I stayed home to try to get stuff done; right now I'm working on a older outing.
