Made a last minute decision to ski Jay today as it was a toss up between MRG and Jay . Decided on Jay due to a deeper season snow pack, however more expensive lift tickets even with discounts. Arrived in the Jay area Tuesday afternoon where the valley locations already have the spring look with melting snow and a general thaw in progress. Thankfully the mountain elevation is keeping the temps low enough not to start the spring cycle. The snow as of today was still dry top to bottom . Skied all the in bound glades today except any ones with access from the Tram as line up for the Tram was long and a waste of time considering the other lifts had no line ups . Must be a tourist thing . The general conditions today in the woods was packed powder and bumped up with enough give to hold a edge. Groomers were Jay typical , scraped down to their snow making base . Honestly, if you do not like glade skiing do not see the point of skiing Jay . Overall , coverage in the woods across the whole area is good with the odd scraped down areas and stump poking through. Weather has been overcast with a thick cloud bank preventing the March sun from transforming the snow.

I noticed the snow texture changing into Spring mode last night. First of the year and it suppose to stay warm for a few days. We're heading into Spring Break with destination unknown.
