Finally busted out of the Laurentians and headed south to Smugglers Notch . There was a time when I was a SN regular but that was years ago so decided to make a return visit as one of the kids was off school . Arrived Sunday night to get a full day in today . So how was the the skiing 3 days after the snow , can report marginal for the areas within the ski area boundary , probably better outside . Groomers were packed powder and skied well . Glades and steep stuff was a interesting combo of scraped down areas with exposed rocks , tree roots and isolated ice patches followed by great packed powder sections . Every turn required different technique . Have to say , a lot more snow needed to really open up the in bounds natural snow step stuff so does not look good with rain in the forecast for Friday .
