Skied Whiteface today with new snow and clear skies . About 4 to 5 inches of new snow fell over the last few days in the ADK'S so we decided on Whiteface which is the closest direct drive US hill from our West of Montreal house ( 2 hours D/D) . Coverage up on the Mountain was good with tracked up powder at the summit mixed with the odd rock poking thru . Corn and Granular at the lower elevations. The slides opened up for about a hour to the general skiing public with one restriction, you had to have had past experience . Could have said skied them all the time but said it was my first time , so that was it for me . The wait continues . Nevertheless, lots of other options from the summit with the new snow along the edges and on Cloudspin made for a better than average day . Would have been even better if I tuned my skis as a sharper edge would have come in handy .
