Corn and Soft Brown Bumps (Greek Peak 12/29/06)

Only 2 ways down, both were fun and challenging. It snowed on the mountain a good part of today, but didn't accumulate more than a coating. Temps hovered above freezing and turned the newly blown snow into a soft corn that got very nicely bumped. Crowds were very light, no wait in line.

The mud beneath the snow got spread around making the snow very dirty in places. The best bumps were the brown ones because they were the oldest and best-formed bumps. The newer, white bumps were just getting broken in, piles of corn-sugar.

Soft and edgeable all day. Not complete coverage on either trail, but enough snow in the middle to keep us entertained and rock free.

Saw a few regulars including Acid Christ. He took a couple of runs with Pam, Tom and me before getting called to the scene of an accident. AC has skied all but one of the last 10 days. Even in CNY on 2 measly 750' vertical narrow white ribbons, he is still a ski bum.
