Due to our move to new servers, the date and time attributed to this post is incorrect.)</I> <BR> <BR>Burke Mountain opened yesterday with skiing and riding on the Lower Warren's Way trail with the lower 1/2 of the poma operating. Only at Burke could a 40+ year old poma operate for opening day! Anyways, the snow today was nice and soft on the top, firm underneath. The skiing was better than I was expecting as there is absolutely NO natural snow on the entire mountain. The only problem was getting to the lift-walking up a hill which was covered in mud (you couldn't ski to the lift). <BR> <BR>If we don't get some cooler temps soon, areas like Burke will have a hard time for the Christmas holiday!
