I drove up from Acton, MA Saturday morning. Arrived at my buddy's place in Stowe at 1 PM. It had just started to snow. Next morning it was still snowing. Thankfully made it up to the Mad River Glen parking lot at 9 AM. As I was driving my 1991 Mazda 626 into the lot, SUV's were pulling around me to snatch up spaces the remaining spaces. Big smile on my face as the parking attendant asked how I was doing. I would imaging that the lot filled up by 9:15. Lines for tickets were long. $42. Lines for the single and double were really REALLY long. It was only my second time at MRG, but I heard someone say this was the most crowded they had ever seen it. Opening the Birdland chair would have been a nice gesture by the staff/management to give skiers more lift options. Needless to say, the skiing was amazing with about a foot of new snow. And the snow fell all day--right into Monday
morning.

My buddy Mark said the skiing was great at Stowe, but lines were tremendous. A ski patroller said 1/2 hour wait for tickets, 1/2 hour wait for lifts, 1/2 hour wait for food, 1/2 hour wait for the bathroom, etc. I'm still glad I went to MRG because on two different occasions I stayed at Mark's in Stowe when it dumped all night and I knew it was my destiny to ski the next day at the Glen. Both times skiing alone and thoroughly enjoying my time there.
