With no snow in the Laurentians it was time to hit the road again in search of snow. The most obvious place for making fresh tracks from the Montreal area would be Sutton. My expectations were not that high as figured anybody looking for new snow would be heading to Sutton as they advertised that they received about 2 feet of snow in the last few days . Pulled into the parking lot at around 9.20 am after a 1 hour 45 minute drive to find the place packed . Would leave earlier but kids can't wake up !!! No Surprise with the parking lot as figured as much. Once on the lifts headed over to skiers right . Good snow coverage off the trails as found boot deep powder in between the trails . However, the main trails without snowmaking were scraped down to dirt and rocks in places but all avoidable The best skiing was just outside the trail map going through the hiking area. This area is officially open with a warning sign that it is a 1.4 km hike out when finished. Perfect to keep the crowds out as the area is a natural skiing paradise . Started snowing hard around mid day with another couple of inches of accumulation. Skiing in the Townships should be good again tomorrow.

Puking pretty hard at Edelweiss today. Snow started early, not sure what the track of this snow was, but normally when it snows in Ottawa, it snows in the Laurentians.

Only about a inch of snow in the laurentians last night , better north of Ottawa . Townships picked up another 6 to 7 inches , believable at the rate it was coming down yesterday afternoon. Middle kid skiing at Orford today so should be good for their trip.

Really nice coverage in the townships right now. Did some exploring around Mont Echo yesterday.

And the snow keeps coming this week with no thaw in sight!
