Day 5: Ahead of a storm
Sun for the first hour before getting overcast. Fairly warm such that no snowmaking was taking place despite many more trails to go. Spent a couple of hours again with Junior working on consistent pizza wedging. sometimes with and sometimes without the tip connectors. Eventually (I think he actually did 8 runs today) getting a bit over an hour to make some turns on the backside. 3 Corona runs and one upper front side run later we headed out as the breeze was intensifying. Not a very photogenic day, crowds were not particularly big though it sure wasn't empty either, and the upper mtn grooming for a prime Saturday left a bit to be desired IMHO. But then the results of the owner running the most competent staff off is, I think starting to show around the edges. Very thin snowmaking in places that will not survive a full season of grooming after each big wind, etc... We'll see. Maybe he'll get lucky and have the storm track finally show up and dump for weeks.
