Day 58: The last day of regular operations.

Yeah, I went up and skied with Bobby Danger, Skidog and friend Sam for the "first" closing day. Once again I was bored skiing the groomers and didn't have the patience to wait for it to soften. There's plenty of cover top to bottom -- in fact it's blemish-free -- but the off-piste was firm and refrozen throughout the morning. I wasn't alone in my sentiment, for everyone save for Bobby split at around noon, after Bobby went over to Snowbird to hook up with his house guest Jeffrey. I wasn't even inspired to snap a photo.

Alta will reopen Friday for a three-day bonus weekend that will conclude with the final closing day on Sunday. They've reversed course and changed the lift lineup to Collins and Sunnyside instead of Sugarloaf, with Wildcat on demand if needed. The "Sugarloaf corridor" will be official backcountry once again this season. It's now time for me to cook up our menu for the parking lot party.
