Sorry for the radio silence, no excuses. I will apologize for the lack of pics ahead of time.
Today was unexpectedly good after a two day rain event. Yesterday it snowed 5" of concrete on a snowpack that was approaching 30" at our lowish 6300 foot base. No doubt it got damaged by the rain, but then it snowed 5" and then an additional 14" of increasingly drier snow and now we're back in business! Today was a day any rider would be glad they gave up what they should have done...to get.
Mt Bachelor report @ 3 PM:
"We definitely had the most epic day of skiing and riding so far this season and that was just day one if our current storm cycle. With 14" of snow in the past 24 hours and a forecast of two more feet by the end of day Sunday, it is setting up to be an amazing weekend! So wax up your powder boards and jump on the powder train because the next stop is the white room."
Stats: 40" at the base and 48" mid-mountain with 83" snowfall so far. We're living lucky here in Central Oregon!
