Days 30-31: A well-deserved warmup.
After weeks of abnormally cold temperatures it was refreshing to see the mercury rise to the upper 20s on Sunday. It felt like a real heat wave!
Both days were spent hunting down smooth wind-blown lines created by the wind event earlier in the week. Both Backside and High Stoner delivered, and both lines received multiple visits from our posse both Saturday and Sunday.
We've also been getting additional terrain, piece by piece, including Supreme Bowl from the lower Challenger gate (Saturday) and Cecret Saddle, the first taste of Devil's Castle (Sunday). Unfortunately, there's only one way to access the lower Challenger gate, and that's via Challenger.
I've only got one word for bumps like these on Saturday on Challenger: Why?
By contrast, Cecret Saddle was smooth and well-skied...but, of course, short.
