Headed west on the Trans Canada yesterday (140 km) from Golden to Revelstoke. Revelstoke has tons of tree skiing . Too much to discover in just one day. There is also short hikes to the upper bowls. Despite the lack of new snow ,we still found fresh snow in the trees days after the last measurable snowfall. Wide open upper mountain had soft dry snow for easy turns on steep pitches. Lower half of the mountain was granular turning to corn in the afternoon as the clouds broke up. Revelstoke ski area is relatively new and is just outside the town making for easy access for visitors.

I dissent on this topic. Revy's trees are quite tightly spaced, conspicuous vs. the great spacing at most of the Selkirk and Monashee cat/heli areas. So in short order after a storm Revy's trees bump up and become like bobsled courses.

I'm guessing the easier accessibility of Mt. MacKenzie resulted in the area being logged at some time, with the newer trees growing in tighter than old growth.
