Another Decent day.

Despite the hugely warm temps (over 70F Fri in Denver) the skiing was decent. Not great, but decent. A bit of moisture came in Saturday afternoon and dropped anywhere from a heavy dusting at the base to ~2-3" up top of Copper which helped surface conditions a lot. A bit hard though mostly not refrozen underneath yet (at least on north facing). Just hard underneath. Wife is ill so just Jr and I today.

We didn't adjust our clocks ahead of time so didn't get on the lifts until almost 11am. We ranged over a lot of the mountain today instead of hitting the same stuff over and over like we did the first time we brought Jr to Copper. Up super B all the way down to center village, up Flyer and a couple laps on Timberline before taking him up Rondevous and into the Copper Bowl that he kept asking about. We just took the cat track over to Mtn Chief, stopping to watch the Tucker Mtn snowcat load up. Then back down the one blue off the top and back up Timberline again. All the way down to Union Creek at the base; back up that, timberline and Rondevous again then down in to the center village base, up Eagle and Excelerator (catching that about 1 minute before it closed for the day) and back into center village where we quit just before 4p.

No traffic at all on the way up (too warm in Denver, people are biking, golfing, etc...). Some traffic on the way back delaying us probably 20 min or so. The new 'metering' at the tunnel which seems pretty ineffective in a way. It just creates a bottleneck at the tunnel instead of down by Idaho Springs. So all it really does is shift the traffic jam further into the mtns.

Nice enough snow, mix of sun and clouds all day which kept temps nice. It was warm enough to soften some flat areas and at the very bottom, but most of the mtn stayed cool enough all day for winter snow.
