Day 27: Same as it ever was.

Well, I might as well get this done as I'm wide awake now, as somebody inexplicably decided to call me from Austria at 4:37 a.m. after I'd gotten only ~5 hours of sleep.

Sunday was basically a repeat of Saturday. Same weather, same snow, same lunch venue, same friends (save for Tom, who tried to come up mid-day but gave up after spending 40 minutes in traffic). The differences:

1. The non-existent, non-mid January, non-inversion thickens. Yesterday it reached all the way up the canyon to the base of Snowbird. Oddly, though, this time there's not a lot of junk in the Valley air, it's just holding in a stratus cloud layer above the valley floor that's actually producing light snowfall at my house while it's cloudless and warm in the mountains.

2. Crowds, while still heavy, were moderately lighter than they had been on Saturday. I left at 3 p.m. to avoid the traffic jam at the end of the day.

Other than that, same as it ever was.
