Aussies on a Mountain Collective road trip.

I’m a new member but long time lurker.
The main reason for me joining is to post a big thanks to your long time member Tony Crocker and his friend Tony (and Liz too) who recently showed us around Mammoth. Tony expertly guided my very much intermediate ‘tourist skier’ family over the mountain.
Now a couple of weeks later my wife (who is certainly not one known for putting herself out there) is still telling people how she skied off the front of the top of the mountain - just under Chair 23 in ungroomed snow. She’s very proud of herself and admits she wouldn’t have dreamt of skiing that line if Tony hadn’t taken control. She jokes that she felt she had no choice but to go in the direction Tony suggested!

We were lucky to ski good snow in a relatively poor snow year after last years trip which had epic amounts of snow. We went from SLC (Alta and Snowbasin) to Jackson Hole (and Grand Targhee) to Tahoe (just one day at Squaw which was far from it’s best) to Mammoth.

This is the fifth similar trip we’ve done in North America and we’re certainly not tired of them. We’ll be back for sure but plan to do a skiing tour of Austria and Italy next winter.

I won’t bore you with an in depth report but will post a few pics that tell some of the story.
The only comment of note is we felt Jackson Hole doesn’t deserve it’s reputation of not being suited to gapers like us. We found loads of intermediate friendly terrain.
Thanks again to Tony and Tony and Liz who were super friendly and very knowledgeable.

Sorry about the photos that are not aligned properly. I posted from my phone and they were the right way up - something went wrong obviously.
Can anyone help with some advice on how to remedy that?
Thanks.

Thanks for the post and the pics (this board is starved for reports lately). Nice you were able to get decent snow this season.
