Very cold and windy with big gusts. Temps started at least 0F before warming to maybe low teens late afternoon. Long story but I was by myself.

Hit 2 laps in Spaulding bowl skiing 1-4" (official report of only 1") getting to be the 2nd person in patrol chute on the first lap. Then transitioned down Lilly G to hit Tucker cat. Found out that Mtn Chief had stopped with people on it for over 30min in that frigid weather. And also found out that both backside lifts are required to be running for Tucker cats to run.

Fortunately, 15min after my arrival mtn chief reopened. I kept warm by doing 3 laps on Tucker cats where once down a hundred windswept verts or so the snow was boottop deep and easily could find completely untracked. Three laps that included the full 30 minute hike pretty much crushed my legs, so I headed up mtn Chief skied union Bowl which was soft but nothing near as good as Tucker, then grabbing a late lunch. After lunch I headed back to Copper bowl for a few runs, one lap on union Bowl and Sierra lift before pulling the plug a little after 3p. Nice but tiring day.

Pics coming...

I'm surprised I took this many pics given the temps.

Well the cat takes about .75 miles and drops you off at an inconvenient spot where you get the privledge to hike .2 miles and 250 verts, ski down a section carry your speed then hike another .2 miles and 100 verts to get to the tippy top where the goods are...

After all that it's probably only 1000+ish verts down to the base of Blackjack lift. Due to limited skiers and excellent terrain the snow quality is great nearly always.
