Finally some snow.

It finally was a storm ski day with only a trace at the morning report, but it snowed all day and still snowing this evening. Wish I could hit tomorrow too. Choose Bridger due to visibility of the steep terrain vs the tram and headwaters over at Big Sky on a day like this.

Only 2 of us left from the group for some of the best snow of the trip.

By the time we got on hill there was probably 2-ish inches at the base and much more up high. It snowed the entire day but cycled through light to heavy snow bands. By the time lifts closed I would guess 4-5" at the base lodge and double that in most of Schlasmans area (with triple or more in areas well sheltered on the Ridge).

We skied multiple laps on Schlasmans to start the day until we felt it was getting too skied. Then we did a hike run to a spot we had scoped out during the prior days. Knee deep turns for much of the top portion, dropping to only mid calf for the mid and eventually to approx 6 inches at that point.

We took a quick and late lunch before hiking again for the same chute (didn't feel comfortable going further as we didn't know what lay beyond and it was very cloudy for the top couple hundred verts). While it had been partially skied, it was still in great shape with more of the same. Finished with a couple simple laps on Bridger lift as terrain closed for the day.

A couple of pics.

I finally had the chance to edit the footage from the 5 day trip to Montana and figured I'd attach it to this post from the final day. It's unlike most 5 day trips in Colorado in that you don't see all that much footage with sun in it...
