Feb: Cold and finally some snow.

Eldora ended January with 51" of YTD snowfall and during the month of February exactly doubled the YTD snowfall to 102". So finally nearly everything opened up (officially only one trail closed), though a couple of places are still in the 'too thin for me' category (eg Placer glades for one). However there are a couple of spots at Eldora where the wind actually blows snow into the trails - the biggest one being the Moose/West Ridge/Salto area. So once they finally had enough snow the skiing has been surprisingly decent over there. However, at a normal annual snowfall of ~230" (I've kept track over the years), Eldora is still way behind and unlikely to get 128" of additional snow in the next 6-7 weeks to hit normal.

The other big feature of the month was the cold. Especially Presidents weekend where my son and I endured for ~3 hours with a high temp of -4F one day (little wind), and then the next day with a high temp of ~11F but big gusty winds. Both days felt pretty similar in temperature in a way. The next couple of weekends also were quite chilly with temps in the low teens and the "Eldora Breeze" to deal with.

I only took pics on two days of the month in part due to the chill.
