(Note from the Administrator: This report was originally posted on 12/15/99. Due to our move to new servers, the date and time attributed to this post is incorrect.)

We spent Sat. at Sugar Bowl and found it to be much better than I expected.
They reported 6-12" on Friday and there was enough left on Sat. to make for a
great day. About half of the terrain on the upper mountain was open and
truly wonderful. In addition, they had 1/2 price tix on Sat ($24).

Sugar Bowl appears to have a lot more snow than many of the other Tahoe
resorts with a great deal of "scare you silly" terrain. I'd definitely
recommend a day there if you are in the area.

We spent Sunday at Heavenly which turned out to be a mistake. $48 to ski
groomers with man made white stuff. Could have been in VT except for the
phenomenal view of lake and desert. Heavenly looks like it has some great
skiing but it needs snow in a bad way.
