Timberline, OR 10/7/00

I skied in bright sunshine at Timberline on Mount Hood for a couple of hours, in beautiful surroundings... (the experience was "lacking" because of the limited conditions, I might add). Only the public lane had clean snow and there was much less snow everywhere on the mountain than at Labor Day. Outside the lanes (off-piste) there was no snow, only volcanic dust/ash and those monster "moon" rocks.

If memory serves, it wasn't any better than more than a few KOD's I've experienced. However, it *was* skiing and I might go again tomorrow. I hope the weather is cooperating for all of you back East...
