Snoqualmie Summit, Washington, Dec. 10

The Seattle area is way behind in its annual rainfall for this time of year, and the local mountains are still showing it. I skied the Summit at Snoqualmie on Sunday, and there was lots of new snow. It had snowed overnight and during all of Sunday, so there was fresh pow (by Cascade standards). Nonetheless, we are still behind on snowfall averages, and only Summit West was open. Hopefully, this week will bring in more snow and the rest of the Summit areas will open. Even with the limited snow and terrain, it was still good to make turns and see so many people playing in the fluffy white.

Monday, Dec 18 at Summit West
Temps in the low 30's, light breezes. Overcast except for a few blue sky cracks. They groomed everything
overnight, and the Dodge Ridge face was still in great shape in the afternoon. Most folks were hitting
Pacific Crest face, or else the skier's right edge of Dodge. Of-piste is filling in nicely, was able to reach
some of the short glades out in the trees. They definatly need another foot or so to finish covering up the
brush.
