We've actually had great snow till this week and if you're familiar with Mt Baldy any snow before Feb is great. With some excellent powder and then dry hard pack and groomed along with the famous Santa Ana winds and a warm weekend shrinking the base from 2-4 ft to 12-18 in Tue was cool, breezy and very hard, crusty, and barely edgable. This mornings report had 4-6 in. of powder so I will venture out for a few hrs before work to see for myself. Like anywhere else Feb. and Mar. are prime months for So Cal skiing and it usually gets really good sooner or later.
