Claims of 100% of the terrain open weren't entirely true, as steeps like Maxwell's Grant and Silver Chute were roped off, as were some of the runs under Chair 6 which sat dormant. No matter, though, as what was open was in fine shape despite a noticable lack of snowfall - south-facing hillsides were virtually bare. Most of Angel Fire gets hit hard with the groomer, which apparently satisfies most of Angel Fire's clientele, who were considerate enough to leave fresh tracks in 9" of new snow on the upper portions of Sluice Box, despite the fact that it fell 2 days earlier.
