....sucked. <BR> <BR>Without having skied in about six weeks I felt compelled to ski at Keystone's opening day on Friday. Since it was on a Friday and the skiing was likely to be just one step above lousy, I figured there wouldn't be too many people out there. I was very wrong. Only one run was open offering about 1,000 vertical feet of skiing and the lift lines were running about 30 minutes. I took three runs and left because of the crowds, but fortunately I have a pass and I didn't have to pay for that insanity. I think people were actually paying $35 for lift tickets. Why we bother with opening day is beyond me. Snow withdrawal will make you do desperate things I suppose.
